SUNSHINE CHILDREN’S CENTRE, ESSEX

Thurrock Council were so impressed by FYA’s award winning SERICC at nearby Grays, that they commissioned the practice to redesign and extend an existing Children’s Disability Centre in Tilbury.

Following extensive consultation with children, families and workers the new design provides a more efficient use of space and a more positive and active role for all its users. New facilities include a garden and designated areas for parents, children as well as staff members. A giant ‘S’ for Sunshine leads visitors into the building presenting a bold and welcoming signature.
