HABITAT HOUSING, COTSWOLDS

Habitat House is a new housing typology built in response to the nature reserve in which it is located.

It is both a home for people and for the wildlife around it. It avoids bolt-ons like bat and bird-boxes by integrating these into the building.

HABITAT HOUSING

”Planted roofs, deep roof overhangs, hanging timber tiles and crevices in rough stone walls support a range of habitats.”

The house finds a balance with ecology – increasing the natural landscape rather than just building on it. FYA were appointed to provide the concept designs which Habitat First Group developed and built with first 4 houses completed summer 2016.

“The turf-topped eco-homes at this luxury holiday community in the Cotswolds are designed to attract a variety of wildlife, inside and out.”
